First of all, I need to figure out how to say CAQDAS. That said, it was a little mind-boggling how technical the website reviewing the CAQDAS sounded and a little disappointing how limited the availability of mac friendly softwares in this realm appear to be. As a student HyperResearch is clearly not in my present or immediate future. I look forward to trying TAMS, the reviews it received on various sites look encouraging.
Transana scores over WeftQDA by virtue of being free but i have to admit, the time markers on the latter do look awfully convenient.. once one figures out how to work 'em.
The learning curve doesnt seem to be too hard, but i think I need to explore them in greater depth before i decide what fits.
But first things first... how exactly does coding work (effectively)?
